Frequently Asked

    What Should I Expect?

You can expect a very relaxing, refreshing, and pleasant experience.  Hypnotic relaxation allows you to release stress and tension from your mind and body, opening the door to discovery and letting you find your own answers and solutions to the problems you are facing.  You are completely safe and protected as you explore and examine the source of your concerns, often hidden in the unconscious mind and brought to the surface while in a very relaxed environment

Can I Be Hypnotized?

We are all at some level of hypnotic trance every moment of the day, performing tasks that require no “thinking”. It's a natural state of mind that we go in and out of all the time.  Guided hypnosis with a trained therapist simply allows you to zero in on specific issues which are causing distress.  If you have the ability to follow simple verbal instructions and can imagine the way you would like your future to look and feel, you can be hypnotized.

    What Is Self-hypnosis?

In reality, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, even when assisted by a skilled, trained hypnotherapist. Hypnosis is a process which requires your participation throughout. Applied self-hypnosis is a learned skill that is very effective in allowing you to achieve the outcomes you desire through concentrated self-created suggestion and imagery.

Will I Get Stuck in Hypnosis?

Absolutely not!  You are always in control of your own outcomes. Any trance or hypnotic session can come to a close whenever you choose. Because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, you are always participating out of your own personal choice.  If you were ever left in a hypnotic state by the hypnotherapist, inadvertently, you would either return to full consciousness on your own or drift into a natural sleep state and awaken after a short pleasant nap.

Will I Be in Control and Aware of What is Happening?

Yes, at all times. You are not unconscious when in hypnotic relaxation.  Quite the contrary, you are in a heightened state of awareness with a specific focus of attention.  You are in calm, relaxed control, aware of everything that is being said, and nothing happens in the session without your ongoing consent.

    Is It Magic?

Many people think hypnosis is a passive process involving magic, but it’s actually a unique, flexible collaboration. Although there is no explanation for the phenomenon, it has been determined that the hypnotic state occurs when brainwave activity is slowed to the “theta” level which is called the dream state.  For some unexplained reason, when we are in the theta level of brainwave activity, we become hyper-suggestible.  The conscious, critical-thinking mind is bypassed, and the subconscious mind becomes receptive to suggestion and imagery which facilitates a change in perception and belief.

How Long Will it Take For Me to Experience a Change?

A greater sense of optimism and wellbeing is experienced immediately.  Many clients leave their first session feeling radically different. Hypnosis isn't like traditional therapy— the results can be felt immediately.  However, with every belief, habit or behavior, it takes a commitment to the process for results to be permanent.  Your results will be reflected by your intentions and a genuine desire for change.

   Do You Take Insurance?

Unfortunately, hypnosis is almost never covered by insurance in the state of Texas; however, some primary care physicians will prescribe hypnotherapy and can bill your insurance company for the costs.

   What is The Investment?

Hypnotherapy sessions are $125.00 and can last between one and two hours.  The initial intake session is usually about two hours, and follow-up sessions are typically 60-90 minutes. It is my recommendation that you commit to at least three sessions to receive the greatest benefit from the hypnotherapy provided.
